Objective

This event aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the operational and compliance risks associated with integrating AI into business-critical operations. Attendees will gain insights into imminent AI regulations, such as the EU AI Act, and international standards that can effectively guide organizations in mitigating AI risks. This event intends to move beyond high-level discussions on AI risks, offering a concrete, actionable roadmap for responsible AI adoption. It focuses on adopting cutting-edge AI risk management frameworks aligned with the latest standards (ISO 42001), and implementing processes for conducting thorough technical AI assessments adhering to the latest AI standards for data quality (ISO 5259) and model robustness (ISO 24029).

Daniel Naeff

Head of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the ETH AI Center.

Daniel is the Head of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the ETH AI Center. With a background in mechanical and industrial engineering from ETH and MIT, he brings extensive experience in the buildup of and investment in early stage companies across multiple sectors – most recently as co-​founder of impact venture studio Brainforest. He also serves on the board of several organizations, including the Board of Directors of ETH Alumni.

Dr. Matthias Bossardt

Partner, Head of Cyber & Digital Risk Consulting, KPMG

Matthias supports his clients in managing (personal) data in a responsible, safe and secure way and operating trustworthy and cyber resilient digital technologies. He works with organizations and their boards globally and across industries – particularly in life sciences & health care, financial services, technology and telecommunications.

Matthias brings more than 25 years of professional experience. He is a member of KPMG’s global cyber security leadership and of KPMG’s global Trusted AI steering committee. In addition to his work at KPMG, he chaired the cyber security working group of economiesuisse and is a member of the cyber advisory board of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW). Matthias supports tech start-ups as business angel and advisory board member. In 2016 Matthias was voted one of Switzerland’s 100 most influential “Digital Shapers” by Bilanz.

Matthias holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from ETH Zurich and a MSc in Electrical Engineering from EPFL, Lausanne, for which he received the ABB Switzerland Research Award.

Dr. Petar Tsankov

Co-founder & CEO, LatticeFlow

Dr. Petar Tsankov is a researcher and entrepreneur in the field of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He graduated with a BSc degree in computer science from Georgia Tech in the United States, winning the Best Student in Computer Science award. Later, he completed his doctorate at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, where he created the first scalable frameworks for safety verification of deep neural networks. For his contributions, he received the John Atanasoff Prize from the President of Bulgaria.

As an entrepreneur, Petar co-founded ChainSecurity, a global leader in smart contract security, which was acquired by PwC. He is currently the co-founder and CEO of LatticeFlow AI. LatticeFlow AI won several awards, including the Swiss AI Award in 2022 and the US Army Global AI Award in 2021. It was also featured on the prestigious CB Insights AI100 List of Most Innovative AI Companies in 2022 and 2023.

Independent Consultant for Financial Institutions since 2018 with over 28 years of experience as a corporate banker in various leadership and specialist roles in Sales, Strategic Management and Risk Management, including business head with overall responsibility for sales, processing, accounting and business development for leasing and factoring, board member of a fleet management company as well as Vice President of the Swiss Leasing Association.
